As mentioned before, I was never satisfied with zone focusing on modern (EOS) autofocus lenses,
since the distance scale is very inaccurate and makes street shooting without autofocus -which
has its own challenges- pretty much hit-and-miss.

Since the EOS system has a very short lens register, there are many 3rd party adapters for EOS
cameras available. I knew about Zeiss and Leica R adapters, but i simply can't justify the price for
a) a camera that I don't use that much and b) throw away most of the lens performance for a
1.6 crop factor camera.

In the end, I decided on a Adorama Nikon to EOS adapter and a Nikon 24mm f2.8 AI lens
(manual focus and aperture ring, baby).

Yepp, the cam still meters and I simply set the aperture on the lens and flick the shutter dial on
the cam - beautiful.

Actually, Adorama stocked the adapter today and I snapped a few shots - I'll keep you posted
how it all works out.

I have a 30D with a 50mm nikkor f/1.8. Pretty similar setup :-).
