Gear fatigue has set in and I’m really happy with what I have, more megapixels don’t mean anything and if the camera handles well and the image quality is good, life is good. the prints from the M9 (I’ll call it Elektro from here on out) look amazing and are sometimes even too sharp at high ISOs around hard edges and I have to add some grain to make the texture look more natural, which I’ve been doing for years (since the original 5D came out) anyways.

I’m so tired of people asking me what’s the next best camera to buy – here’s my advice, buy what fits your wallet and what feels right in your hand. If you’re upgrading, please ask yourself what you can NOT achieve with your current gear. Anything else falls into the “want” category and that’ll send you into the infinite loop of consumer hell.

Right now, the end of the yardstick is the M9, which I had for 2 1/2 years now with a Canadian 35mm Summicron and a Canadian 28mm Elmarit and all I can say is that I’m happy as can be… Same is true in the printing department – the Epson 3800 keeps on truckin’ without disappointment.
