I know, I know - it has been a while, but I didn't have time for editing between my dayjob and a demanding photo assignment.
Today I went with Matt Weber to see the Walker Evans show at the UBS Art Gallery (the show is open 'til
Nov. 9th, well worth it).
The prints are mostly large format inkjet prints and the detail is amazing, even though they show
some silver prints which have a different tonality, a certain richness in the blacks that the inket prints lacked.
The inkjet stock was matte, I think that mostly accounts for the flat blacks. If there were no silver
prints for comparison, I would mostlikely not raise the issue - the inkjets shown are beautiful.
But I'm a sucker for contrast and rich blacks. My HP 8750 does just that...
Got this shot today right before I returned to work - thanks to Matt & Walker Evans :P

Even without the headline that guy would make an interesting shot!

best greetings Markus
imo.. decent image. strong elements, nice focus, tones.
the composition could have improved with the extreme-right gloom better framed instead, as far-left detail around the figures crossing the road.

the previous color picture i've tried to appreciate several times i came here recently but sorry, still i consider it as one for the "so what ?!" wheely-bin. too far from the action and a 'flat' vibe.

I really like this one (paper headline is great) as well as the previous "so what ?!" color comp.
