Jess:

Seems a weird place to clean your shoes - next to bags of rubbish xD I love the expressions of everyone else in the photo, it's like they're purposely avoiding each other.

Plenty good photographies on your blog.
I like very much.
Ce Noir et Blanc est vraiment adapté à l'urbain des grandes villes américaine.
You are in my favorites and I put a link on my blog.
( ^ __^) Very good work!

Sometimes I get so involved in trying to figure out these moments snapped in time that I forget that the scene carries on after the photo is taken. For example.....I keep trying to analyze this gentleman, wondering who he is and what he is doing here. Is the retro look of the white socks purposeful, or part of a uniform? He is wearing a tie and fanny pack, but his shirt looks like a uniform (ie, the kind someone in security or law enforcement would wear). Does he carry the squirt bottle with him, or did he just happen across it there and decided to wipe down his shoes? And what is the huge circular object in his left pocket?

I spend much time pondering such things only to realize that I should just ask to find out. ;) But I think that my imaginary answers might often be more exciting than the truth!

it all happened so quickly, but your observations are very accurate here... this was taken in front of the Hotel Pennsylvania, behind him a Limo with the driver's door open. The rounded object in his pocket must be his hat, so yeah, he is a Limo driver.

Excellent street shot!! You have captured an unusual event and converted it brilliantly into b&w.
Great work!!

Love your work. Love.

I browsed around once not too long ago and then life got in the way. I'll be back very soon!

J7CK:

i think there's a real need on the net for a progressive, hi-quality streetphotography forum.

Okay, I see the limo driver vibe now. I bet he carries the spray bottle with him for quick clean ups and decided his shoes needed attention. Very cool, especially now that I know his job.

@J7CK - my wife is urging me since forever to open up an SP forum... we'll see what the poll brings ;D

J7CK:

bravo!

Great work!
Your pictures are amazing.

This place looks like Nicea in garbage-crisis:D

Kara:

You inspire me to no end. I'm doing my photographer project on you.
