Since I posted the "convert to b/w" tutorial I had quite a few requests for my "real"
film grain files. I have fulfilled every request so far, but my bandwith is getting *this* close to its limits. Each grain file is 5MB at highest jpg compression. In order to fund a bandwith update and to keep serving the grain files, I need to charge a small fee of $3.99 per file. Think about it - it's less than a roll of film and you can use the file infinitely.
Once I have received payment via paypal, I will email you a link for the download. I'm not at the computer at all times and it may take me a few hours to create your directory and send you the email. please be patient, during the day (EST) I'll respond right away.
update: just recently some paypal notifications got caught by my email spam filter, if you don't receive your grain file(s) within 24 hours, don't hesitate to email me
Each file is full frame 35mm, 12.1 MP equivalent and can be used with any digital photo - simply paste the grain into a new layer and set the blending mode to overlay, adjust the opacity to taste. read my great tutorial here
Voila, your digital photo looks as if it was taken with film.

Thanx markus, you and your photos are great. I bought all 8 grain files and paid them a few minutes ago. Hope you'll get the money!
Thanx

Hi, Markus
Until now I've never gotten my b&w photos to look exactly like they should. I'm so glad I found your site!

Marcus,
Love your site. I'm thinking about buying the grain file. Do you use the file on your digital stuff? If yes, which images did you use the grain file on?
Thanks in advance
Eric

Eric,
I almost always -especially for larger prints- add grain to my digital photos, since it looks much more organic

Thanks Marcus. I'll probably order a grain file later today. I just started shooting digital a few months back. Still trying to make the leap. Do you mostly shoot digital these days? I'm using a Canon 40D with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens.
Thanks again,
Eric

Marcus, one more question...which grain file do you prefer? do you have one that you use most often?
Thanks again,
Eric
